Breath To Feel, Feel To Heal

“The real miracle of the breath occurs only when we learn how to turn it on,
fire it up, and set it free to do its work in us.” ~
Dan Brulé

Every single one of our experiences are embedded in the cellular memory of our body. Therefore, we become walking “archives” of the pleasant and unpleasant events we had encountered in life.  Unpleasant experiences have many points of origin as degrees of intensity, ranging from minor uneasiness to severe trauma. Since the body and the brain have an active defense mechanism, the consequences of unprocessed unhealthy experiences remain stored in the subconscious mind, as well as in many places in the body.

Peter Lavine states in his book Waking the Tiger, Healing Trauma, “fortunately, because we are instinctual beings with the ability to feel, respond, and reflect, we possess the innate potential to heal even the most debilitating traumatic injuries.”

WHAT IS BREATHWORK?

“Breathwork is the use of Breath Awareness and Conscious Breathing for healing and growth, personal awakening, and transformation in spirit, mind, and body.” ~ Dan Brulé

In our human experience we seek to understand the self at a deeper level.  One of the most natural and powerful ways of inner-discovery and self-awareness is through our breath.

Breathwork is the action of breathing with “intention” and “attention” to what arises in the process, that can be released.  While focusing on the breath, you can bypass the logical/critical mind and drop into a deeper state of awareness, which is the portal to spiritual connection, self-improvement, and healing and, the most holistic and complementary approach to alternative medicine.

WHY IS BREATHWORK GOOD FOR ME?

Dr. Gerbarg shares: “Because breathing has such a strong impact on our thoughts and feelings, it provides a portal through which we can send messages through our own nervous system to quiet our minds, reduce defensive over reactivity, and enable us to feel safe, close, loving, and loved.”

To be constantly exposed to the conflicts and chaos of today’s fast-paced living and survival worries, creates anxiety, depression, PTSD, rage and fear among other heavy consequences.   How can we change living from a fear-based state of doing to a love-based state of being?

Breathing is an innate mechanism of our magnificent body and is the only system that is both, automatic and under our control.  When we breathe with intention, we use our body’s wisdom to be actively involved in our own nature and evolution.  Through breathwork, we access the realm of self transformation, as it connects us with our innate wisdom and deepens our state of self awareness from where healing happens.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING A SESSION?

During a Breathwork session you will comfortably lie on a recliner or on the floor.  I will guide you through a journey similar to climbing a mountain that represents the different parts of your experience, while breathing in the Conscious Connected style.  This breathing technique is done breathing from the abdomen through an open mouth.  The inhale is active and the exhale passive and longer,  with no pause between them.  The session is accompanied by music, which builds up gradually along the intensity of the rhythm of your breath.

Breathing in this way, will prompt your body to release excess carbon dioxide and replace it with higher amounts of oxygen, leading to physical sensations such as changes in body temperatures.  Tetany can also be experienced temporarily, which is characterized by cramping, tightening, tingling, paralyzing or numbing sensations.  Be aware that you are always in control to regulate your breath by softening the exhale or breathing through your nose for a few cycles.

A healing session could include Hypnotherapy, Light-Color-Energy Healing, Shamanic Healing, EFT and Reiki.

Disclaimer: Please know the Conscious Connected Breath is not a medical practice and Theodore and Mariscela are not medically trained.  If you suffer from any serious condition you should check with your medical practitioner prior to breathing with us.  Likewise, if you are on any medications, you are advised to seek medical counsel prior to joining us.  If  you do have any of the conditions below, you can breathe through your nose the whole  session: cardiovascular disease, detached retina or glaucoma, diagnosed brain or abdomen aneurysm, epilepsy, diagnosed bipolar or schizophrenia, uncontrolled diabetes or thyroid conditions, high blood pressure, delicate pregnancy.

Testimonials

Thank you so much, Mariscela and Theodore. I had a huge breakthrough on Monday. I finally let go of all the pain and anger around my marriage and saw the absurdity of what I was trying to hold together. I laughed and laughed and laughed. I haven’t been so happy in years. Thank you for the wonderful session and all your help getting to this release!

Best,
Jennifer – Sacramento
